The Ministry of Defence (Mindef) has awarded a RM34.5 million contract to TM Technology Services Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM). The contract was officially awarded during the opening ceremony of Siber Siaga 2024, held on the second day of CyberDSA 2024 in Kuala Lumpur. Attendees included Defence Cyber and Electromagnetic Division Director-General Rear Admiral Datuk Pahlawan Mohd Fadzli Kamal Mohd Mohaldin, Mindef Deputy Secretary-General (Development) Dr Mohd Bakhari Ismail, and Malaysian Air Force Deputy Chief Lt Gen Datuk Seri Muhamad Norazlan Aris. This contract is part of a broader effort by the Malaysian government to bolster its cybersecurity infrastructure. For instance, in May 2025, Telekom Malaysia announced that its subsidiary, TM Technology Services, had secured two contracts from the Ministry of Home Affairs. These contracts, valued at RM120.5 million, involve managed network connectivity and ICT services, further demonstrating the government's ongoing investment in strengthening its digital infrastructure.
